The Solutions Architect is a member of the Enterprise architecture team which is accountable for the direction, performance, ongoing health and effectiveness of nThrive’ applications, data and architecture.  This role partners with key business and IT leadership and Delivery Leads for the purpose of making customer business requirements a reality and alignment to IT strategic direction. Additionally, the Solutions Architect is responsible for implementing the architectural roadmap, and provides direction for solution design.  The Solutions Architect acts as an advocate for delivering solid technological solutions that are performant, secure, maintainable and are in alignment with the strategic direction.  This role will manage the architecture / technology framework, to support a comprehensive, focused approach in delivering and integrating solutions, taking into consideration the current capabilities, needs, infrastructure and business requirements.


  • Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for technical staff, contractors and vendors (architectural / design / development / data standards)
  • Perform evaluation on technology solutions, platforms and vendors towards build vs. buy decisions – drive decisions between alternatives
  • Provide positive mentorship to IT technical staff; Define and document standards and other IT essential skills
  • Identify and share technology trends, especially as related to healthcare IT
  • Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering the company's services
  • Develop policies for sharing technological innovation, business processes and other intellectual property.
  • Ensure the company's internal technological processes and customer-facing services comply with community expectations and applicable laws and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences and reading widely
  • Participate as a member of the management team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization's resources are used responsibly, particularly in the areas of solution delivery
  • Perform hands-on technical work, as required.
  • Select and monitor appropriate tools (such as performance profiling) and procedures.


Internal Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and the company's governance/compliance program.
  • Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.
  • Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility.  Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process.
  • Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management.


  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field, 10 to 15 years’ experience, or combination of both
  • 10 plus years’ experience with strong to expert understanding of:
    • Hybrid cloud technologies
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Azure Active directory
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Powershell scripting
    • Certificates
    • SSL, TLS
    • Storage systems (SAN, NAS, and DAS)
    • Networking systems and protocols
    • Server system architecture
    • Unix/Linux
    • Oracle
  • Expert understanding of one or more IT components including Networking, Network Load Balancing, various Operating Systems, SAN/NAS storage, x86 hardware, Single Sign-On solutions, Java/.NET applications, and others, with solid understanding in all other areas.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility
  • Adjusts to changing priorities
  • Ability to proficiently facilitate meetings and conduct briefings
  • Strong technical writing abilities

  • Must be able to work on an as-needed basis, understanding that he/she may be called in to assist with major outages
