Overview

This Billing Patient Accounts Receivable Representative Biller position is responsible for insuring that all electronic files are received in X Claim from the facility and forwarded in an acceptable format to the appropriate payer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Verify import of claims from hospital system to X Claim
  • Review claims in Incomplete, Outgoing, Hold and Rejected folders
  • Identify missing or incorrect data on UB04 and correct claims in X Claim prior to submission to insurance carriers
  • Complete daily billing report and calculate clean claim rate for hospital
  • Develop a working knowledge of payer websites for eligibility verification
  • Acquire a working knowledge of revenue codes and HCPCS codes
  • Build bridge routines with X Claim to resolve redundant billing errors
  • Secondary electronic and hard copy billing of claims with EOB from Accupost
  • Recreate UB04 for medical record requests
  • Act cooperatively and responsibly with patients, visitors, co-workers, management and clients
  • Maintain a professional attitude
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of initial hospital billing experience
  • 2 years experience in healthcare customer service or insurance collections field
  • Strong knowledge of computer billing systems
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
  • Able to work in a professional, corporate setting
  • Experience working with customer support/client issue resolution management
  • Proficiency with MS Office
