Job Purpose:

The Principal will provide direct management and oversight for complex client initiatives and accountable for a successful engagement. The Principal will be responsible for building strong relationships with senior client executives, leading the problem-solving process to drive high-value decisions, and contributing to the intellectual property creation.  He/she will also be recognized as a thought leader and subject matter expert in one or more areas of the revenue cycle and will contribute support to internal functions such as sales and product/solutions management.




Position Objectives:

  • Scope, develop and lead execution of projects at the executive level, with overall responsibility of the advisory engagement team in the execution of related duties
  • Provides direct management and oversight for large, complex engagements that may span multiple work streams and/or oversees delivery of multiple engagement teams in targeted practice area.
  • Identify, create, drive and deliver innovative strategies for clients
  • Ensure high level of client satisfaction
  • Provide quality control and performance outcomes for work performed by engagement teams under direct supervision and/or where specific subject matter expertise is needed
  • Proposals for patient-to-payment and revenue cycle transformation
  • Financial models highlighting income statement and balance sheet benefit for potential clients
  • On-site assessments for integrated solution opportunities
  • Collateral for new services offerings
  • Public speaking engagements at industry events
  • White papers, blog posts, speaking at industry events


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Develops and manages overall client engagements and offerings to achieve desired results and outcomes
  • Serve as a leader in practice management and innovation which includes creating and enhancing current tools, methodologies, recruiting practices, personnel development and business development processes
  • Manage, contain and deliver on client expectations around engagement activities, timelines, deliverables and outcomes
  • Demonstrates expertise and leadership in consultative core competencies such as executive presentation development/delivery, change management, facilitation, etc.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) to a variety of audiences; must be able to persuade and influence the actions of others; Interactions will range from routine to complex and include formal and informal presentations, one-on-one and group discussions
  • Oversee the preparation of final client deliverables and ensure engagement staff demonstrate full command of the material
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to expand current nThrive business and identify new business, and cross-selling opportunities
  • Support primary selling efforts in areas of subject matter expertise/experience
  • Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to lead our teams in developing solutions to difficult or complex client situations to ensure goals and objectives are met, including delivering results on time and within budget
  • Lead and focus team efforts in managing the client relationship, facilitating working sessions, deliverable development, data analysis/interpretation, process design, and formulating conclusions and recommendations
  • Play a key role in the retention, professional development and performance review of staff, including the mentoring, coaching and recruiting of staff
  • Collaborate with project planning and staff scheduling to ensure appropriate leverage of resources
  • Collaborates with internal and external team members (e.g., product development, solution management/marketing, implementation and service delivery teams)
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills - ability to lead C-suite meetings such as Steering Committees. Develops and executes communication plans
  • Provide thought leadership in industry, market, and policy landscape for offering development and sales support
  • Coaches and shares expertise with others.
  • Build a strong network of client and industry relationships which strengthen nThrive prominence in the market and provide avenues that generate new business by publishing or speaking engagements
  • Work with internal SMEs to develop sales materials.

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Colleague Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program
  • Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts
  • Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility. Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process


  • Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management
  • Possesses a full and complete understanding of the internal control requirements within their area of ownership/responsibility. Responsible and accountable for internal control implementation and performance within their area of ownership/responsibility.
  • Ensures proper internal control change management protocol is followed.




  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years work experience in Management consultant with experience in strategic planning, revenue cycle transformation, business intelligence program management, and sales
  • Extensive Knowledge of Patient to Payment Revenue Cycle service deliveryKnowledge of new industry trends and regulations
  • Experience and/or willingness to contribute to thought leadership in the revenue cycle space
  • Experience with executive communication and presentation skills that drive client results
  • Project Management experience including creating work plans, budgets, managing budget to actual, and goal setting/benchmarks
  • Experience managing teams, preferably in a remote/project-based environment. Ability and desire to coach and mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to actively manage and deliver on client expectations around project activities, timelines, deliverables, outcomes, etc; ability to direct others in this regard
  • Ability to provide targeted communication (written and verbal) to internal and external constituents
  • Proven analytical and process redesign skills (problem solving, quantitative, workflow process, etc.)
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals and personalities in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook
  •   Willingness to travel up to 70%, as needed to meet client and internal objectives

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of nThrive products or products and services of competitors preferred
