  • Overview

    The Database Engineer position is responsible for retrieving and manipulating data within SQL Server 2008/2012. The ideal candidates for the Database Engineer position must have 2-5 years’ experience in TSQL on SQL Server 2008/2012, be highly organized, detail oriented, demonstrate excellent follow-up skills and have great communications skills.


    ***Locations: Saddle River, NJ or Plano, TX


    • Provides functional support to Data Analysis/Business Development team including the creation and execution of SQL scripts.
    • Provides QA analysis and support to Data Processing and Analysis team.
    • Analyze samples of client data for quality before and after processing, checking data cleanliness and ensuring the ability to use data in existing processes.
    • Provide DTS, ETL capability between Excel, access and MS SQL Server: includes ensuring data imported/exported is appropriately formatted and ready for usage.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation on all data and metadata and supports clarification and usability communication.
    • Assists Data Processing and Analysis Team in constructing data cleaning, loading and distribution requirements as well as building process to transfer and integrate new data development projects into the existing maintenance project schedule.
    • Write ad-hoc query batches and stored procedures to assist in analyzing, cleaning, checking and processing data to ensure the maximum possible integrity and quality.
    • Write ad-hoc queries to extract data as per Business Requirements.
    • Maintain a professional attitude.
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
    • Supports nThrive’s Compliance Program by adhering to policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and other laws applicable to nThrive’s business practices. This includes: becoming familiar with nThrive’s Code of Ethics, attending training as required, notifying management or nThrive’s Helpline when there is a compliance concern or incident, HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information, and demonstrable awareness of confidentiality obligations.



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
    • 3+ Years of MS SQL Server 2008 or above (Involving TSQL/Store Procedure development).
    • Expert level knowledge of TSQL on SQL Server 2008/2012.
    • 2+ Years of Programming experience using VB.Net or C#, VS2008 or above.
    • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
    • Ability to work in a professional, corporate setting.

    Preferred Skills

    • Knowledge of SSRS 2012 and SSAS 2012.
