  • Overview

    The Senior Product Analyst applies a thorough understanding of healthcare revenue cycle and/or healthcare IT concepts to software product feature definition and development. This role works as part of the Product Management team to improve user experience by considering the user’s perspective with regard to features, functionality, and interface.  The Senior Product Analyst will also serve as the primary liaison between the subject matter experts (SME’s) from the business (e.g. Chargemaster) and the Development Team and will assist internal and external clients with CDM Master product adoption and work with team members to build client feedback into the product

    Responsibilities

    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for CDM Master product and provide expertise and business training/knowledge as needed to solve business problems and raise the level of knowledge of others
    • Conduct client visits with internal and external clients to assess product adoption/usage and identify process and product improvements that are needed to drive more value to the clients
    • Communicate business and technical requirements and functionality of features of the product to the development staff, through both Rally User Stories and other forms of documented requirements.
    • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
    • Work with agile team to validate requirements, perform testing as needed
    • Identify, model and document technical, quality of service, and implementation requirements; maintain up to date product specific documentation.
    • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
    • Interpret customer business needs, with the assistance of Subject Matter Experts and translate them into application requirements under the guidance of the Director, Product Management.
    • Completes projects of medium complexity with some supervision.
    • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in relative field such as healthcare administration, information technology, or business administration
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle with a vendor or hospital in one of the following roles: product analyst, consultant, implementation specialist, or business analyst 

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with Kanban and Scrum approach to Agile development methodology
    • Chargemaster experience in a vendor, hospital or physician group setting is a plus
    • Visio / UI Mock-up tools
    • Good documentation, communication, and presentation skills
    • Analytical mindset with strengths in troubleshooting and problem solving

    • Knowledge of hospital and professional billing a plus
