  • Overview

    Reports to the System Manager of Revenue Integrity and supports clinical areas throughout the system in charge capture, coding accuracy and revenue management.. Responsible for supporting and ensuring a compliant, accurate, consistent charge description master maintenance for all Centegra Hospitals as well as Physician, Home Medical Equipment Occupational Health.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain Centegra Health Systems CDM management software. This duty will include ensuring that monthly reports are submitted and updated into the CDM management software in a timely manner.
    • Update the CDM based on the needs of hospital departments to add change or delete codes. It will be the responsibility of the CDM Coordinator to verify changes before accepting the recommended changes.
    • Update the CDM monthly based on CPT, revenue codes and pricing discrepancies as noted in CDM management software reports, audit and review, managed care contract requirements or clinical team feedback.
    • Investigates billing system errors as a result of potentially inappropriate documentation, coding, medical necessity or charging.
    • Conduct reviews of departments to optimize reimbursement while ensuring compliane with applicable rules and regulations. This will involve the proper use of modifiers, reporting the correct CPT/HCPCS codes, and a working knowledge of Local Medical Review Policies (LMRP’s).
    • Collaborate with IT and Clinical resources to ensure EMR, Templates and Orders have appropriate CDM mapping for compliant revenue optimization.
    • Consults with clinical departments throughout the system on charge process.
    • Investigates and recommends action steps and works collaboratively with the department to improve processes when operational weakness, or compliance issues are found.
    • Engages with leaders and department associates to ensure quality work.
    • Helps identify areas of revenue opportunity and drives various action plans to prevent revenue leakage and initiate process improvements.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • At least 4 years of experience in the role of CDM Coordinator or it’s equivalent at an Acute Care Facility with at least 200 beds.
    • Adept knowledge of Paragon and NextGen products as they relate to CDM and patient bills.
    • Adept knowledge of the coding and billing process.
    • Adept knowledge of third-party regulatory requirements including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and commercial.
    • Interpersonal skills to train, orient, and coach colleagues on system functions.
    • Analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve system related issue

    • Bachelor’s Degree and Coding Certifications
