  • Overview

    As the technical leader of a product family or group of development teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall integrity, accuracy, performance and supportability/maintainability of a family of products.  This encompasses all functional and non-functional aspects of a product or service, as well as adherence to governance and best-practice recommendations from the Dev/QA technical community.  A significant percentage of effort will be spent working collaboratively on cross cutting concerns that affect the entire product portfolio. Experience working in a fast-paced, forward-looking environment that embraces Agile Scrum development practices is essential.  Encouraging and modeling excellence in software design and development practices are essential, and mentoring junior colleagues in these regards is expected.


    • Participate in the development, communication and facilitation of Enterprise Architecture Governance processes
    • Develop and communicate enterprise technology standards and policies
    • Research and select technology solutions to address emerging business needs
    • Ensure that significant architectural decisions are reviewed and documented
    • Champion significant technical change in the portfolio across teams
    • Ownership and responsibility for capacity, performance and availability of product suite in production
    • Work closely with product managers and clients to translate business problems into software solutions
    • Provide high level effort estimates for product family roadmap planning
    • Establish and maintain a technical roadmap for the product family, including advocating technical priorities with product management
    • Mentor architects and developers in the art of exceptional software design, patterns and practices
    • Collaborate with other departments (IT, support, etc.) to continuously improve the client experience with the product family
    • Provide constructive feedback to team members and management on performance and process
    • Supports nThrive’s Compliance Program by adhering to policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and other laws applicable to nThrive’s business practices. This includes: becoming familiar with nThrive’s Code of Ethics, attending training as required, notifying management or nThrive’s Helpline when there is a compliance concern or incident, HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information, and demonstrable awareness of confidentiality obligations


    • BA/BS in Computer Science or related concentration 
    • 10+ years of experience in software development
    • 2+ years of experience in software architecture
    • Expert-level proficiency in developing software in an Agile environment
    • Full mastery of multiple solution tiers and technologies, familiarity with all tiers
    • Expertise in Enterprise software design, to include availability, scalability, maintainability, extensibility, supportability and security
    • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) architectures
    • Familiarity with HIT-related messaging protocols (SOAP, REST, HL7, X12) 
    • Proficiency in Test Driven Development (TDD) practices
    • Demonstrated focus on results over activity
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills 

    Preferred Skills

    • Business process improvement experience
    • Practical experience with Azure or AWS PaaS
    • Healthcare domain knowledge desirable, specifically in the areas of Patient Accounting, HIM, Revenue Cycle and IT integration
