Impact you will make

The Staff Data Engineer will have a natural curiosity about solving problems – familiar with the complexity of healthcare datasets. They will be a critical thinker with advanced problem solving, data mining, and data engineering skills that enables them to answer ambiguous questions in data that help leaders make great data driven decisions. The Staff Data Engineer will work with highly collaborative teams and have direct influence over data engineering roadmaps


What you will do

  • Design and develop complex and large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting
  • Ensures that data pipelines are observable, scalable, reliable, and secure. Improves data quality and integrity
  • Familiar with standardization of data governance, lineage, cataloging, and stewardship practices across teams
  • Model a high-performance culture and cultivate an environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, learning, collaboration, and experimentation across data and analytics department

What you will bring

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or Applied Science
  • 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering and/or Software Engineering
  • Expertise in Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Databrick etc.
  • Strong coding skills in Python/Java/Script or equivalent
  • Expertise in SQL and Data analysis
  • Experience building, governing, and scaling data warehouses/lake/lake houses
  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills

What we would like to see

  • Azure experience as it pertains to PaaS (Platform as a Service) offerings (Synapse, ADLS, Databricks, Event Hubs, CosmosDB, Azure ML, etc.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code and automation production data and ML pipelines
  • Hands-on work in on-prem to cloud migration, preferably in Azure
  • Experience collaborating with Data Science teams
